Who Is Miss Lawrence From Real Housewives of Atlanta, STAR and EMPIRE?

We all know Miss Lawrence from RHOA, Real Housewives of Atlanta as Sheree Whitfield’s hairdresser and friend. He left the show because he felt he was the token gay guy and feels the show needs to respect the LGBT culture. He was also on the Bravo show “Fashion Queen” as a co-host with Derek J and Bevy Smith.

Furthermore, he is also a singer-songwriter, actor, radio personality and has been in the hair and beauty industry for over 20 years.  He is a proud owner of his own hair salon in Buckhead, Georgia with clients like Ciara and Serena Williams.

Miss Lawrence has always loved to sing and was soon discovered by Kandi Burrus producer, songwriter and member of r&b group Xscape.  Soon after meeting Kandi, Miss Lawrence released his first single “Closet Freak” in 2011 under Kandi Koated Entertainment. Now he can been seen singing and acting on the hit show “Empire” and “STAR”.

For the urban LGBT community, the hit show has now opened the doors for so many in the LGBT community including Miss Lawrence and Amiyah Scott, a transgender model and actress.

On the Musical Drama TV Series, STAR, created by Lee Daniels, Miss Lawrence plays Miss Bruce, a transgender women who works as a hairdresser in Carlotta’s salon, played by Queen Latifah.  Miss Lawrence says their is no character on T.V like Miss Bruce.

Miss Bruce is gender fluid, ratchet, feisty,  has a smart mouth and unpolished.  Having a lot of hood in Miss Lawrence and growing up on the south side of Atlanta made the part of Miss Bruce easy for him. Furthermore the cast of STAR says Miss Lawrence is also funny and hilarious on the show and off.

On episode 2 of STAR Miss Bruce performs “Groove Is In The Heart.” by Deee-Lite and shows off her singing skills. The show STAR has really opened up a lot of doors for those in the LGBT community of all fluids. Hope we continue to see more.
