UBER shows support to the LGBT Community in a time of need
Uber has a anti-discrimination policy for sexual orientation and gender identity and have always showed love to the LGBTQ community. Since Uber was founded in 2009 by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp and has always showed full support to the LGBTQ members by making sure they get home safe or get around the city at ease! But Uber showed it’s complete dedication to supporting the LGBTQ in time of tragedy that happened in the US 2016 during that scary moment in America’s history when the dreadful Orlando shooting occurred. Uber offered loved ones in over 40 cities ride services. Uber, a worldwide app transportation service, was there offering free rides to the victims, friends, and family on that terrible day and showed true solitary with those in the community. Uber also provided two free rides up to $20 to museums, LGBTQ clubs and bars all over the U.S. They provided free rides in Denver, Orlando, New York and San Francisco, Washington to name a few. Uber has showed there loyalty to the LGBTQ community because they recently ended their partnership and relationship with a homophobic taxi company in Portland Oregon, who supported a anti -LGBT employee. Uber stated they would have nothing to do with that homophobic company and they will have no more affiliations with the Portland Oregon taxi business.
There is no question Uber has always been around for all LGBTQ pride events and they make themselves available with cheap or free rides for pride parties. Uber is the biggest and top ride-share company around the Globe started by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp . Uber has provided hundreds of thousands of jobs to gay and straight folks, and has a net worth of $6.3 billion and growing!
In conclusion even though Uber has some homophobic drivers, Uber will investigate any incident and take action as they have done with a recent incident in London where passengers got kicked out of a Uber car for being Gay. The Uber driver said he didn’t want them kissing in his car and kicked all four passengers out. So again Uber has the Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, and bi-sexual community’s back and the next time you head out to a party, don’t drink and drive. Utilize Uber!
